MBA is known for its writing program, but authorship at MBA extends well beyond the analytical essays of Theme Days. In our Theater 1 class, Dr. Cal Fuller challenges his students to write and perform stories from their own lives. This is both an opportunity to work on their stage presence and also a chance to reflect on their personal experiences– and how one’s perspective can change over time. Last fall we did an episode on Beatlemania, but this spring is all about Batmania and the newest movie version of The Batman. It might be tough to prove who is the biggest Bat-fan on our campus, but Math teacher Michael Swett would definitely be in the running. Mr. Swett graduated from MBA in 2006 and went on to complete degrees in accounting and mathematics education, but his school record for discus still stands outside our McDaniel Track. In 2019, he returned to MBA as a member of our math faculty, and he recently sat down with Debate Coach Austen Yorko discuss Gotham’s Dark Knight.
